4 lonely Sea Lions

Lance, Grant, and I drove into the city one day during our Christmas vacation in California. Lance and I have bot been to San Fransisco many times over the years. It is always a fun trip no matter where you go or what you do, and this time was especially fun because it was Grant's first time the city. It only took us about 35 minutes to get their from my parents house, which was nice. Random fact of knowledge: there are 17 toll lanes to get on to the Bay Bridge! That's right, 17! We chose to go to the very famous Pier 39 because we thought Grant would love the Sea Lions. Unfortunately there were only 4 Sea Lions! The people were saying that they left at a very strange time to get some food. Typically at the time of year there are hundreds of Sea Lions...oh well. We enjoyed walking outside in the fresh air and smelling the ocean and the clam chowder bowls! Lance took Grant on the Carousel, which was fun. Grant didn't really show any emotion, but we could tell he liked it. We let Grant do lots of walking, which is his favorite thing to do. He is pretty good now at holding our hands and not wanting to go off on his own, although of course he still does at times. We went to Sea Lion Cafe to have lunch. It is the cafe that overlooks all the Sea Lion docks. This is where we learned about the Sea Lions. Most of the people who work there know a lot about the animals because people go to the cafe mainly for the sight of the animals. We did more walking, looked at the big Christmas tree, and then made our way home. It was a great day in the city and grant really enjoyed himself!
