NYE 2010

We had a great house party on NYE 2010! We were at my parents in Pleasanton and had a fabulous night eating, drinking, and playing games with family and friends. My mom made 2 delicious lasagnas for dinner and my Dad went up to Castlewood and grabbed some appetisers from the grill. He got pot stickers and wings and they were so good! We scarfed them pretty quick! We then popped the champagne! Everyone in our family loves of champagne, so we could hardly wait to have some. At this point it was just our nuclear family. We had a great toast to family, health, and the new year and got right into the games! We started with a little game called 'Apple To apples'. At this point Donna, my mom's best friend, and Jim, Tina and her two boys were over. This game is perfect for all ages and so that was a great way to start so that everyone could participate. There were some pretty great moments with cards that read 'Scientific engineer, Juicy, Beatles, and scratchy'. Grant wanted to participate as well, so he sat on the couch with my dad and they had their own little side game going on of Indian Poker. They are 2 peas in a pod! Shortly after Grant went down for bed and we started to play Cranium. This is a fun game, unless 1 team keeps winning and nobody else gets a turn! My dad and Donna won the game, and some of the other teams only got 3 turns! But it is still a fun game to watch. Lance and my mom made a side bet that whoever lost had to do 25 push ups in front of the TV. Technically Lance was further ahead of my mom so she lost the bet. She stayed true to her word and did her 25 push ups, while tooting a song with her party blower. That is very typical of my mom; Making everyone laugh while she is the silly one! Tina's younger boys brought over some great NYE party poppers, hats, blowers, and glasses so we all grabbed some to ring in the new year. The countdown began.......and it was 2010! Good food, good drinks, good laughs, and good people - It was a great way to start a new year!
